I’m Kate Motz and I am a Westfield area Mom.

Photographer: Dewdrop PhotographyIn addition to being the proud mom (my most treasured title ever) of three, I am the owner of this online resource center and website that connects local moms to local businesses.

In 2004 I left the corporate business world and became a full-time, stay-at-home mom.  Prior to that I was a financial advisor and enjoyed helping individuals and families plan for their financial future.  I have been, and always will be a life-long networker.  My passion in life is providing resources and connections to those around me.  In doing this, I hope to help make their lives easier and their businesses prosper.

Besides my dedication to Westfield MomsTown and the moms and businesses we support, I hold various titles of great importance: taxi driver for my three children, head chef for my family, laundress, coach, singer, personal dressor, cheerleader and counselor.  And these are only the titles I hold for my children.  I am also a very dedicated and supportive wife to my wonderful husband.

I’m always on the go (big shock.. another mom who never sleeps) and not just because I’m still home with my children when they are not in school (did I mention they are all 5 and under?).  My children Kyle, Haley and Tyler, live with my husband and I, in Mountainside, NJ, and although I’m a native Californian, we've made New Jersey our home for the past 6 years.

If you are wondering how I started WestfieldMomsTown.com, the story is pretty simple. It took a whopping four and a half years of being "out of the workforce" before I started “getting antsy” for a project.  Something I could call "mine" (if I can quote my 4 year old daughter) and bring back that sense of accomplishment from working that I had been missing.  During my "before kids career days", I worked 12-14 hour work days while managing to finish my MBA. The second I started to discover "downtime" during my days at home with my kids, I began to miss that sense of accomplishment. But instead of crying about it, I contacted a friend, a business coach, and quickly decided all the pregnancy, maternity and parenting research I had been doing in my free time would be used as my new full-time career. That day, I formed the idea for a "resource center for moms" type of website and after finding the MomsTown Network, became a MomsTown Mayor. To borrow from some famous lyrics, "It's a new dawn, a new day, a new life and I'm feeling good".

Thanks for visiting my website! I'd love to hear what you think about the site, so please send me an email

WestfieldMomsTown.com…

  • is not a mom blog. My " mommy blog " can be found here
  • is a for-profit business and looking for new clients to promote!
  • is designed to be a resource center for moms
  • does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
  • does not 'personally recommend' every sitter and nanny listed
  • strives to be the essential guide to resources for Westfield Area Moms
  • was inspired by my own search for the best resources to make my life as a mom easier
  • only lists recommendations of products and services I’ve used myself, let my kids use or have heard about from friends giving raving reviews.
